I ask this question based on several reasons. I am seeing the exact same wording from the “Radical Feminists” that I am seeing from the Christo-Fascist Organizations that have words like Family and Concerned in their title. I’ve seen this before back during the right wing Schlafly et.al. campaign against ERA, which passed itself off as a grassroots organizing effort, when it was actually a well financed campaign. ALEC and the Tea Party. The hijacking of “Susan B. Anthony” a… Read more.

The Many Shades of Stealth
July 22, 2013 · Cooke
Editor's Note: This is part of a series on "stealth." The goal of this series to examine the nuanced ways trans opinion leaders conceptualize stealth and how they feel about it. Suzan Cooke kicked off the series with her article, The Many Shades of Stealth. It should be noted that TA is not endorsing any one view, definition or conceptualization. As with the elephant parable, each perception presented in this series represents one representation of the truth; taken together,… Read more.
The seasons turn and summer begins. Yesterday a manager at the local Tom Thumb Market became the first this year to ask me the standard Texas summer rhetorical question, “Hot enough for ya’ yet?” When the thermometer creeps up to the century mark and the trees are the lushest deep green of the year I count another year lived, another year of surviving, overcoming the odds. Another year of living a life I was told as a child would be… Read more.
Why I’m Kind of Over “Pride Day”
May 3, 2013 · Cooke
For one thing I remember when “Pride Day” commemorated the Stonewall Uprising. Back in those days it was political. I didn’t go to the Christopher Street West Gay Liberation Marches until 1974. The prior years I was dealing with more pressing issues including surgery dates. I went to my first Christopher Street West March and Rally in Hollywood, 1974. It wasn’t a huge event. But there were a lot of TS/TG women there, Hollywood was our turf, home to the… Read more.
HBS: Play Ground for Frauds, Bullies and Self-Loathing Transsexual-Transgender People and wannabee Transsexuals
April 27, 2013 · Cooke
Yesterday I posted a piece titled: Django Unchained: House Slaves Like Stephan and the “Girls” of HBS. I’ve seen the damage of all the abuse and bullying play out across the various trans-communities. I’ve seen the suicides, I’ve seen the substance abuse.I’ve gotten really sick of these bullies claiming some sort of right to decide who is or isn’t transsexual based on some sort of purity test that they, themselves would likely fail. I first came on line in the summer of… Read more.
Django Unchained: House Slaves Like Stephan and the “Girls” of HBS
April 25, 2013 · Cooke
Tina and I watched Django Unchained over the weekend. My take on it is that it is much closer to the reality of slavery in America than Gone With the Fucking Wind. No matter how far up the bigots assholes you have your tongue in the end you are still a transsexual/transgender person. The acting was brilliant. Samuel L. Jackson played the slimmest simmering stereotype of a house slave ever shown in a movie. A Black person, a sycophant simmering ass kissing… Read more.
