Last week I received an email from the Human Rights Campaign informing me that Joe Biden will be speaking at the the Human Rights Campaign National Dinner on October 4th, 2008. Since that time I’ve expected to hear about an organized protest of this event from the transgender activist community in Washington D.C. Protests have already happened from coast to coast (and everywhere in between). Last Feburary the New York City protest caused many prominent local politicians to boycott the New York City HRC Dinner. In July the Harvey Milk LGBT Democratic Club, Alice B. Toklas LGBT Democratic Club, Pride at Work, And Castro For All, the Lou Sullian Society (FTM SF), and the Trans March came together to boycott the Human Rights Campaign Dinner. Such a strong presence of organized labor was especially important. The key note speaker for the San Francisco dinner, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, dropped out of the event because of labor’s involvement.
Early yesterday evening during a phone call conversation, I received a tip from a reliable, anonymous source revealing yet another one of HRC’s true colors. According to my source, The Human Rights Campaign donated ten thousand dollars to the log cabin republicans and a big fat goose egg to the National Stonewall Democrats.
Predicting what the HRC will do is pretty easy since they repeat themselves so often. It is frustrating to have to teach people every few years when they think the leopard has changed it’s spots though.

Surprised? They supported Mary Bono over a gay Democrat, and Alphonse D’Amato instead of Charles Schumer, in the past, among others. Things in the present that surprise you today most likely happened in history already, and so it is with HRC.
GLBT Republican? Isn’t that kind of like a Klansman of color? Why does the LCR even exist anymore? Any GLBT person who remains in the GOP must really have some self-hatred issues.

The Human Rights Campaign decided to donate the 10 grand to the Log Cabin republicans instead of the Stonewall Democrats because HRC was still pissed off that the Stonewall Dems would only support a fully inclusive ENDA.
