Sheila Jeffreys has for years claimed that trans surgery is the product of some malevolent conspiracy:
[Transsexual surgery] could be likened to political psychiatry in the Soviet Union. I suggest that transsexualism should best be seen in this light, as directly political, medical abuse of human rights. The mutilation of healthy bodies and the subjection of such bodies to dangerous and life-threatening continuing treatment violates such people’s rights to live with dignity in the body into which they were born, what Janice Raymond refers to as their “native” bodies. TERF ENVY: Since these TERFs are very free about coming up with conjectures about TG persons, let me begin a line of conjecture that would explain their bizarre and Nazi like behaviors. My hypothesis would start with the fact that I have observed in those I have seen a whopping degree of underlying gender dysphoria. Of course, I see them as having had to deal (in their day) with these same and varous misfortunes of genetics and especialy pre natal development as many FTM natal women have had to cope. However I believe that many of them had to deal with those gender issues (I would love to see their blood tests….lol…and hormonal levels)….that today’s many younger FTM guys have had to deal. I believe that within them there is considerable autistic like and aspergers angst…but when they were reaching maturity the technology and public awareness of being transgender was not there yet. And they certainly didn’t have to find out if they had ‘the balls” to undertake transition to a freeer more total integrated gender identity. Instead they were stuck. Stuck with their agonizing untreated Autistic LIke conditions and stuck with their resentment of those who made the journey and blossoming into fuller TG mode rather than being stuck in their gender/endocrine miseries. So now they are deeply resentful and still internally mutilated and deeplly so…probably heavlly medicated with pharmaceutical pacifiers rather than having tackled their hormonal de-synchronization. They would rather hate and resent those who followed the path to gender identity rather than admit that they fear that possibility has passed them by. How sad. Just a hypothesis for now, but I have a feeling that gender research will bear it out
