Last Ditch Effort: The Right Wing Whopper Lies

Unbelievably, I woke up to find this in a google alert:”Bringing back Hitler and the SS

From the get go, it’s filled with lies:

“Right now we have a bill called HR 2015 that, in my opinion, would bring back forced hiring by our government for local business. Surprised, I am not.”

From the bill:

No Preferential Treatment or Quotas- Nothing in this Act shall be construed or interpreted to require or permit-
    • (1) any covered entity to grant preferential treatment to any individual or to any group because of the actual or perceived sexual orientation or gender identity of such individual or group on account of an imbalance which may exist with respect to the total number or percentage of persons of any actual or perceived sexual orientation or gender identity employed by any employer, referred or classified for employment by any employment agency or labor organization, admitted to membership or classified by any labor organization, or admitted to, or employed in, any apprenticeship or other training program, in comparison with the total number or percentage of persons of such actual or perceived sexual orientation or gender identity in any community, State, section, or other area, or in the available work force in any community, State, section, or other area; or
  • (2) the adoption or implementation by a covered entity of a quota on the basis of actual or perceived sexual orientation or gender identity.

She continues:

“A company will no longer be able to hire a person because of their qualifications. The company will be forced by law to hire the type of person that will be mandated by our government.”

Apparently there’s some kind of forcefield around her eyeballs that keeps her from reading the above section of the bill that says NO QUOTAS.

On with more fear mongering!

“With this bill you will have government intrusion into the very core of business. What will be next? My bet is that it will be government intrusion into our very homes and lives. We will no longer be free.”

What, like the 1964 Civil Rights Act? The act that already protects individuals from being discriminated against on the basis of their sex, race, color, religion, or national origin.

Who cares, pile on!

“Now, the important part I want you to notice is that it states: not wholly exempt. If any religious organization takes one penny for profit they will be forced to hire people that violate their religious doctrine or belief. My question for you is what about all the Christian Book stores and the other Christian stores? These entities will be forced to hire people that violate their beliefs or suffer persecution for violating the law. How is this right?”

What if the “Christian stores” violate the Civil Rights act? The author seems to think that it’s ok to discriminate against GLBT people simply for existing. I wonder if she’d feel any different if a Muslim business was trying to fire a Christian for simply existing?

Now for some “man in a dress” fear mongering:

“What paragraph (3) is telling the employer and the employees is that a male will be able to go into and use the woman’s locker room shower and lavatory if they state that they are going through gender transition. Personally, that will just open the door for all kinds of peeping toms. All a present employee would have to do is tell their employer that they have started to go through gender transition. The business will be forced under federal law to allow that employee access to all facilities of the opposite sex.”

Yes, peeping toms will go through gender transition so that can go into an opposite sex bathroom. RIGHT.

“Paragraph (4) tells us that if a person decides that they are going to transition they will be able to wear a dress and grow their hair long in the work place or violate federal law.”

Because all women (apparently transmen don’t even register with her) wear their hair long and wear dresses.

And now, the grand finale!

In my title I referenced Hitler and the SS. That is because Hitler dictated to the people what they were going to do and how they were going to live. The people and businesses did not have any choice. Our government is going to dictate to “We The People” our actions. With what we have here our own version of the SS will monitor and enforce these new laws.

This has to be stopped now. Let these politicians know that we are not happy and that they need to take their name of the ballot for 2008.

I’m used to lies about the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, but using Hitler/Nazi terminology? This is a new low for the right wing extremist rhetoric. Of course she ignore the fact that this symbol’s origin:

Comes from it’s use as a Nazi concentration camp badge.

A friend of mine who is Jewish and transgender responded by saying:

“In fact, the SS actually ended “forced hiring”. They made it perfectly OK (even mandatory) to get rid of Jewish, gay, communist, catholic etc. employees. The Nazis are on her side here… and she can keep them.”
