Apparently I’m on comment moderation at Bilerico even though I’m a former contributor and a verified user. So, I’ll post my question to Dr Jillian Weiss here:
Dr. Weiss, I’m kinda confused. You’ve said here that:
I do not have any reliable info on this. My feeling is that I will not abandon the effort to get job protections based on rumors. If the language comes out, and it is unjust, I will fight to get it changed. Dr. Jillian T. Weiss | March 12, 2010 10:29 AM
but here you say:
If you all think we have had a problem, just wait until you see the new language in ENDA that separates the transsexuals from the transgenders. Hold on to your hats. Dr. Jillian T. Weiss | March 9, 2010 5:34 AM
Which is it? You seem to be contradicting yourself from three days ago. Three Day Old Weiss seems to have heard the same confirmation I’ve heard from the Hill concerning the ENDA language.
Can you clarify please? If we wait to question the language until it comes out, all the lobbying done at NCTE’s lobby day will support whatever language is in the bill after markup. You can’t unlobby a bill. Am I missing something here?
I agree, and would suggest that however noble an effort it is to unite the T with G and L, that we have too little in common politically to from a united base. Thus, the problem with Bilerico is the persistent prejudicial intrusion by the GL fringe types, who so frequently with offhanded, passive aggressive comments, have the effect of perverting the context of what is being discussed at the time.

I think our biggest problem as a community is subjection and submission to the larger L and G community.
THANK YOU! I dropped out about a month ago. I was about to point out how cliquish the atmosphere was to them, when I realized I was persona non-gratis and no one cared what I thought..
Even when I pointed out that we as gender diverse people were allowing ourselves to be splintered by the failure of our dysfunctional political system to address our most basic needs for health and safety.
In order to change this situation of neglect of trans needs, we must figure out how to defeat the tool of the state [divide and conquer] that always manages to divide people into an infinite number of political identity groups that are rendered ineffectual by the endless division of our base.
BTW, what IS our base?

Sorry Jillian, but that seems like the same circular logic the Speaker’s office has used on you. Once the language has been marked up, it’s not going to be changed. It reminds me of when they switched 2015 to 3685/86 back in 2007. Once it was done, there wasn’t going to be a change to it no matter how much the community bitched.

Yes, Marti, I did hear that the new language is problematic. However, until it gets approved in the markup, it is not official language, and we can change it. I’m not willing to hold back on ENDA, either on moving it forward, or on making sure this bad language does not get into the bill. I empathize with your position that we should not be forced to lobby on a bill while secret language is held over our heads. But my feeling is that if we don’t lobby, there will be no markup. Job protections are too important an issue to hold back. If we can move it forward, we can also fight the bad language. I could be wrong, but that’s how I feel.
I’ve sent a note this morning to the Bilerico Ed team to ask about this moderation issue. I’ll let you know what’s up on that.
I just found out what appears to have happened. Your Bilerico comment contained two links, which automatically requires moderation, even if you’re a registered user.

LOL! I was just shocked that I’ve been put on moderation. They claim to be so methodical and fair in their moderation, but I’ve gotten no email, no warning, nothing… just moderation.
