Amp has been personally attacked many times because of this cartoon. I believe it’s because it’s speaking truth. Some folks don’t like to see their own reflection, or refuse to believe it and react violently when they do.

She was a delegate from Indiana to the Democratic National Convention and a member of Barack Obama's LGBT Steering and Policy Committee.

    FWIW, I think the comment thread at Alas is worth reading, too. On the one hand, it’s largely the same tired debates about trans people and gender essentialism. OTOH, there are some really eloquent responses.
