I guess Randi’s transphobia isn’t something new.

I find it rather ironic that Randi’s reaction to Ann Coulter’s personal attacks is to attack Ann’s body, gender identity and sexuality.

Randi, since I didn’t want to waste any more of my time in writing about or to you, I posted this comments earlier today in this blog and to save effort, I’m re-posting it with this brief introduction to my earlier comments.
My only question to you, did you stopped playing the Ad I referenced to?

Hi, I’m a trangender woman and a former rabid Randi Rhodes listener, fan and admirer, I used to identify myself as as a “Rhodie”, I referred to her as my Goddess until..
Every time I heard the add my gut felt like if somebody had hit me there.
“bigger than Ann Coulter’s Adams apple”, “she is a man baby”
And the RR show played it often, followed by Randi’s ha! ha! ha!
On later weeks, Randi came up with her “Man Coulter”
I couldn’t understand how my “Goddess of the radio” With all the despicable qualities that Ann Coulter displays, couldn’t come up with a way to attack her other than questioning Ann’s gender and sexuality.
I poured my feelings of hurt in a letter to Randi, I never got a reply from her.
I told her that as far as I could tell, Ann could be a TG woman but that she identifies as biological woman, I conveyed to Randi the importance that it has to respect an individual’s gender self identification, that in my lifetime (then 58, now 60 yrs old) I’ve known biological women with big hands, large Adam’s apple and could give a run for their money to many a man in a beard contest.
I also told Randi that I was not trying to defend Ann, that I leave it up to her to respond to and to account for all the hate and filth she continually spouts, but that every time she went to the well of her gender ID, she was making it OK for other people to do the same, not only to Ann C, but to me and my TG sisters as well because as sis Alyssa said in a previous post in this blog, “Actually, Randi, we transwomen LIVE it. Comments like yours help ensure it.”
Amen!
I have not listened to Randi in almost two years and I tell my friends that she couldn’t even get the time of day from me and that if they can, to do me a big favor and tell other people about her.
With friends like her, who needs enemies?
RE: GLAAD and the “Gay Communty”, all I will say now is that I’m tired of them treating us as their POOR RELATION and dropping our struggles as soon as doing so, benefits them or feel that their association with us, makes them look…. ????, will somebody tell me?
May I remind you that we are still classified/cataloged as having a disorder? (“Gender Dysphoria”), (Yeah, I know it is a two edge sword because this designation allows our very low income sisters, to get hormonal treatment under the current TG medical protocol that diminishes the discrepancy between our image in the mirror and our innermost feelings)
I find it even more interesting that “Gender Identity Disorders” listed in the DSM-IV-R happen to be the only disorders with a non-psychiatric surgical treatment. Of all the “mental disorders” listed, the only psychiatric and psychological intervention required is to help us realize we are not crazy, and to help us deal with society’s bigotry.
Too bad society, and in particular the media, chooses to ignore this and instead marginalizes us at every opportunity. And it’s a crying shame when people like Bill O’Reilly (Fox Noise Channel) and Pat Robertson (Pay The Lord) are more sensitive, understanding, and informed on this subject than say, oh, Randi Rhodes.
