Monica Roberts Joins The Transadvocate

It’s been a good year for The Transadvocate. In January Katrina Rose signed on to be a contributor at The Transadvocate. Just last week Gemma Seymour came on board as a contributor as well. And today I’m thrilled to anounce that Monica Roberts has joined us as well! WELCOME MONICA!
In her own words, she:
“A writer, award winning activist, lecturer, speaker, native Houstonian and Texan who transitioned in 1994 and absolutely loves her semi-boring life now.”
But that’s just her being modest. She:
- was a founding member of the National Transgender Advocacy Coalition (NTAC)
- was NTAC Lobby Chair 1992-2002
- is a Trinity Award winner
- 2008 weblog award finalist
- writes at the award winning Transgriot blog
and has many other amazing accomplishments under her belt.
It’s really personal for me because Monica Roberts was the person that schooled me on how to lobby. She’s an amazing long time activist and blogger and as she’s already said on her blog:
“It was simply time to make the move, have another venue and group of readers to expose my writing talents to and my style fits in with TA’s tell it like T-I-S is approach.”
I agree, she fits perfectly here. She’s not afraid to say what everyone is thinking but are too afraid to say.
WELCOME MONICA!!!!!!
