The John declares:
And then – in an irony-deprived flash that surely will cause Bill Hicks to rise from his grave – The John engages in apologism:
And then The John goes Gay Godwin, playing his own ultra-privilege card via usage of a sanctified gay ’ultimate’ to demonize those who call out blatant privilege when they see it:
Matthew Shepard is dead. Is he more privileged?I don’t like it when people play the “who’s more hated” game. It’s the argument people use against all of us to claim that we’re not even part of the civil rights movement, because “obviously” we haven’t suffered as much as African-Americans (putting that little Holocaust thing aside for a moment).I think it belittles the suffering of gays when people play the “privilege” card against us. It suggests that the user really does think that gay people don’t “really” face that much discrimination. It’s insulting and it’s wrong. You can’t oppose “tranny” and defend the use of words like “privilege,” in my view. Both are different ways of spitting on people you value less.
Lets get down to brass tax (pun intended): If Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum each suddenly agreed to not stand in the way of letting white gay men fuck and marry who they please but in no way changed any aspect of their corporatist, anti-worker, anti-woman, anti-Constitution agenda, John Aravosis and those like him would be falling all over themselves to volunteer for a ‘Romney-Santorum in 2012′ ticket – but only after they masturbate themselves into a stupor with thoughts of David Dreier, Ken Mehlman and Aaron Schock.
You know it.
I know it.
