The CVS Pharmacy manager who allegedly admitted Friday to filming women in his store’s bathroom was an active participant in the 2008 charter amendment to “keep men out of women’s restrooms.”
Jonathan Matheny, 27, was charged with one count of video voyeurism after a customer told police she had discovered a cell phone equipped with a camera under a pile of tissues in the CVS bathroom at 125 S.W. 34th St.
Can you say projection? Maybe Mr. Matheny was afraid that transgender women would hone in his territory? No fear, Mr Matheny, no fear! While you have charges pending, no transgender woman has ever been convicted of the same crime. Why? We use restrooms to safely urinate and use cell phones to make phone calls. Fancy that.

I think it’s more along the lines of good ol’ internalized homophobia. DudeBro is spying on women in bathrooms (ew.) Gets wigged out on the possibility that he might be *gasp* watching a “man” instead, and would that make DudeBro GAY?!?!? (oh nooooes).
So we must prevent a random trans person from using the facilities for normal business, to keep unhealthy but straight DudeBro from catching Teh Gay.
One more instance of how sexism and homophobia hurt straight men too.
LOL. I love your comment. Dead on. Most of the time I think transphobic behavior is a subset of homophobia. What bothers me is that people who put up his kind of argument against transpeople have NO proof. If we used their same logic with kids and we’d never allow any child near a priest or pastor. Because they have commited sex crimes, it’s not just hypothetical.
Admit it, you use your cell phones to take pictures, too. Just not toilet shots.
